Donkeys

 FIVE MILE FARM  produces several types and sizes of donkeys.    We have minis, small standards, large standards,  and mammoth donkeys.  Some of our donkeys  have   "wild burro"   heritage  in  their backgrounds.   We  have  seasoned veterans of the  show ring that are some  of  the best  looking  donkeys in the nation.   If we don't have what you are looking for - we can probably find it.

A common misconception about donkeys is that they are stubborn and hard to get along with.  This just couldn't be farther from the truth.  Donkeys are very lovable and make great companions for other critters and people alike.  They are very sure-footed and have an incredible sense of self-preservation.  Donkeys won't do anything that they aren't completely sure of and will always make their moves on the side of caution.  This is why they make such great riding, pack, and guard animals.  They  like to "sing" with a rather large bray and should not be kept close to people or things that have not learned to appreciate their chorus.  Donkeys usually don't like dogs or cats so please keep this in mind when you start to think about donkey ownership.
